Paris in spring: best magnolia and cherry blossom locations
Audrey Hepburn was so right: Paris is always a good idea.
In the last year I’ve visited Paris in almost every season and every single time it was indeed, beautiful.
My friend Victoria is based in Paris and she always tried to convince me to visit Paris in spring and I finally made it this year! I visited Paris in March and it was extra: the sunrise light was gorgeous and the flowers are blossoming almost everywhere.
During one week in Paris I had time to explore some of the best locations to enjoy the magnolia and cherry blossom, and I’m sharing all my findings with you in this post.
Paris in spring – locations to visit in March
Champ de Mars
One of the best spots to photograph the Eiffel Tower is Champ de Mars. There are two spots that are especially beautiful in each side of the tower: on the left side we have a magnolia tree that makes a perfect framing, and on the righten side, the cherry tree.
I was lucky to visit this place in mid-March and both trees were already blossoming and incredibly beautiful.
Do not miss this spot if you’re visiting Paris in spring!
Jardin du Palais Royal
Another beautiful spot to visit in March is the garden at Palais Royal.
There are many trees blossoming and you’ll se often couples on photoshoot on the benches around. It’s really romantic.

Les Halles
I’ve found this spot by chance, when I was on my way to Palais Royal. I had been to this square before in autumn and I loved it then, but it looks even more beautiful in spring with all the flowers in bloom.
This location is not too far from Louvre and Palais Royal, so you can easily add it to your itinerary.

Hotel de Ville
Another iconic spot in spring in Paris is Hotel de Ville. Flowers are blossoming already in mid-March!

Parc de Rene Viviani
Even when I’ve visited Paris multiple times, I’ve never realized this place existed. Thanks to Marina I visited it during sunrise and it was so good!
Best time to visit Notre Dame area for cherry blossom is mid-April, so I was really happy to find some of the first flowers in this square in mid-March.

Parc Monceau
I didn’t get to visit Parc Monceau this time, but I know it started blooming in late March!
Next time I’ll visit for sure.
Paris in spring – locations to visit in April
Notre Dame – Square Jean XXIII
The best spot in Paris for cherry blossom is without any doubts, the Square Jean XXIII right next to Notre Dame. The photos speak for themselves.
However, we will have to wait a bit to enjoy this area again after the fires in 2019.
Shakespeare and Co
The most popular library in Paris is blessed with cherry blossoms in April.
This place is located quite close to Notre Dame so do not miss it if you’re traveling to Paris in April.
Trocadero Gardens
When I visited in March, these trees hadn’t blossom yet.
The view with the carousel and the Eiffel Tower in the background is just picture perfect!
Parc de Sceaux
One of the best spots in Paris for the cherry blossom is Parc de Sceaux.
It’s located in the south of Paris, a bit out of town, so don’t go there if you only have a couple of days in Paris.
However, if you have the chance to go, plan to visit early in the morning if you want to take photos, as it’s quite popular and busy in spring.

omg I need to visit Paris in the Spring for all these pretty blooms!! The city seems extra beautiful with all these pink flowers! I have visited in the Fall and in the Winter, but not Spring yet!! When I do I will definitely go to these places on your list! Thank you!!
I have visited Paris in autumn and winter and the vibe is totally different. Spring is the most beautiful moment to go! I still have to go in summer one day, I’ve heard that the city is completely empty – which is good to avoid the crowds though!
It’s such a bucket list item of mine to see Paris in the Spring! All the flower blooms look so magical. Makes Paris even more romantic than it already is!
The same with me! Visiting Paris in spring was on my list for so long. I hope to come back this year as well!

Never thought of visiting Paris in the spring but I’ll have to now, these photos are so pretty!
It’s seriously the best moment to visit, the light is just gorgeous.
So many gorgeous spots in Paris during Spring. Unfortunately the area right by Notre Dame will be closed this year but it is still so worth visiting in Spring
Yes that’s so sad! I’m sure in very few years we will enjoy it again <3
