How to install Lightroom Presets on the Mobile App
After a long wait… you guys, I finally made it! My Lightroom Mobile presets are finally available and they can be used in the free version of Lightroom Mobile!
My collection of presets make it easy for mobile users to create professional edits on their phones: it doesn’t matter if the photos were taken with the phone or a DSLR, these presets will make your photos look beautiful.
Keep reading to find out my step-by-step guide on how to install the Lightroom presets on your Mobile App.
1. Purchase the Lightroom Mobile presets
First things first! Purchase your new Lightroom presets here.
2. Unzip the files
After purchasing your presets, you’ll be granted access to a link for downloading the files. The next thing you need to do is to unzip the folder.
You can do this easily on a computer, iPhone or iPad. If you’re using Android, I recommend using Winzip app.
3. Save the files
If you unzipped the preset on your smartphone, you can skip this step.
If you have unzipped the Lightroom presets on your laptop, you will need to either AirDrop the files or save them in the cloud, so you can access them on your mobile phone.
4. Open the Lightroom Mobile CC App
Now, just open the Lightroom app. Once its open, you can add the DNG/Preset files.
5. Add the DNG files
To add a preset, click on the 3 dots in the top-right corner of the app and choose “Add Photos”.
You will see 2 options: “From Camera Roll” and “From Files”. Simply choose the location where you will be adding the DNG files. This depends on where you’ve saved the files before.
Select the DNG/Preset files you would like to import.
Please note that Preset files are DNG files. When you open the image, you may get an error or it can appear in blank, but that’s normal. Tap the check mark in the top right corner anyways.
6: Create the Lightroom presets from the DNG files
To create the Lightroom presets, select one of the new files, click on the circle with three dots in the top right corner and select “Create preset”.
Name this preset. You can use the name on the image or you can add one of your choice.
Add this preset into a “Preset Group”, otherwise, it will be located in the “User Presets” group. Creating a new group with your new collection’s name will keep the presets from each collection together.
Repeat these same steps for each DNG/preset file.
7. Use the presets and ¡happy editing!
Now you can use the presets on your photos!
Select the photo you would like to edit in the Lightroom Mobile App. Swipe left on the bottom menu and tap on “Presets”. It will show the presets you’ve just created. Tap on the collection name and choose the preset you’d like to apply.
Try different presets until you find the one you like the most for that photo in particular. Click on the check mark in the lower right corner et voilà! You’ve just transformed your photo.
As you may know, lighting conditions are different to every photo. I recommend adding some extra tweaks in exposure and white balance / temperature to achieve your desired effect.
