The most beautiful Parisian doors

The most beautiful doors in Paris (and where to find them!)

Petit Palais

Location: Avenue Winston Churchill

One of the most incredible entrances in Paris is without any doubts, Petit Palais!

If you can, do not miss this museum: the permanent exhibition is free and the interior garden is really pretty, especially during spring.

However, if you’re planning to take photos, go there before opening times (it opens from 10 am) or on Mondays, when it’s closed.

Parisian doors

Eglise Saint-Etienne-du-Mont

Location: Place Sainte-Geneviève

One of my favorite areas in Paris has some of the most beautiful doors, too.

A great example is the Eglise Saint-Etienne-du-Mont with its iconic purple facade that you may recognize from Woody Allen’s movie Midnight in Paris.

This area is very lively, pretty close to Sorbonne University so expect a very young and relaxed atmosphere. I sat there just enjoying the place because it felt so nice!

Lavirotte

Location: 29 Avenue Rapp

My favorite Art Nouveau building in Paris is without any doubts, the building Lavirotte. Part from its gorgeous facade with intricate floral patterns, its balconies, windows and main door… it also has a sweet view to the Eiffel Tower! I can see my self living here… I wish I could!

Place Monge

Location: Place Monge

Also in Saint Germain, this square has some beatiful doors that deserve some attention!

If you want to stay in this area, I recommend you Hotel Belloy Saint Germain.

Boulevard Beaumarchais

Location: Boulevard Beaumarchais

Another neighborhood I really love in Paris (or should I speak properly and say arrondissement?) is Le Marais.

Le Marais is a historic and aristocratic area in Paris. Hence, you’ll find many beautiful doors and entrances to former palaces and important buildings here.

Not far from Bastille, Boulevard Beaumarchais has a beautiful collection of unique Parisian doors that you don’t want to miss. It took me so long to get to Bastille because I was stopping every few meters for a doortrait!

Rue de Turenne

Location: Rue de Turenne

Door-wise, rue de Turenne is another paradise! If you also have a thing with doors, you need to stop by.

Lycée des Francs Bourgeois – La Salle

Location: 21 Rue Saint-Antoine

Also in Le Marais we can find an important historic building: the Lycée de Francs Bourgeois – La Salle.

If you want to stay at Le Marais, I recommend you Pavillon de la Reine, in Place des Vosges. Click here for rates and availability.

Rue Fabert

Location: Rue Fabert

Not far from Hotel des Invalides, there are some beautiful colorful entrances that will, for sure, catch your attention.
