Where to stay in Marrakech: Riad Tarabel
About staying in a Moroccan riad
A Moroccan riad is a type of traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard that usually contains a fountain.
The word riad comes from the Arabic term riad which literally means “garden”. This type of construction is built around this space, and it ensures total privacy as the windows are always facing the patio.
Many of these riads have been restored now as boutique hotels. Riad Tarabel is a very special one.

Riad Tarabel
Riad Tarabel is an adults-only riad formed by a collection of 3 adjacent riads with 3 different courtyards. It’s located in the most beautiful district in the Medina, dar El Bacha.
It’s an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the Medina. Once you cross Riad Tarabel’s door, it’s an instant relief from the hustle from the souks. You’ll always be welcomed with Moroccan tea.
10 elegant rooms and suites can be found in between several lounges and gardens with incredible and detailed decor. You can feel the aristocratic French colonial style at every level.
Everything is immaculate and sparkling clean, even though it’s located in the dusty Medina. The staff work 24 hours to make this possible.
Plus, there’s a swimming pool at one of the courtyards and also a small one at the rooftop.
One of my favorite things to do at Riad Tarabel was just relaxing and chatting at the lounge at night, sitting by the light of the candles and the soothing sound of the fountains at the courtyard.
Riad Tarabel made my stay in Marrakech even more special.

Suites
There are 10 rooms and suites at Riad Tarabel with a unique and beautiful decor. The owner is an interior designer with a taste for miniatures and antiques that can be found all over the place.
Some of the rooms also feature a fireplace which is perfect for wintertime in Marrakech.
