10 Amazing Rooftop Bars in London

10 rooftop bars you need to visit in London

Sky Garden

Level 36 | 20 Fenchurch St | Open everyday

Sky Garden is London’s highest public garden and it’s located at the top floor of the famous “Walkie Talkie” building.

Sky Garden is free to visit – you only need to book your visit online in advanced. If you feel spontaneous, they also accept walk-in guests every day – although access is not guaranteed as it’s subject to availability.

I totally recommend booking your visit during sunrise to avoid the crowds.

It features 4 different options for drinks and dining: Sky Pod Bar, City Garden Bar, Fenchurch Restaurant and Darwin Brasserie.

The View from The Shard

Levels 68-72 | The Shard, 32 London Bridge St | Open everyday

Gong Restaurant at Shangri La at The Shard is London’s highest hotel bar: the views are amazing!

Instead of going to The View at The Shard, why not visiting Shangri La for sunset drinks? It’s about the same price (or even cheaper!) and you’ll get to enjoy a cocktail!

Shangri La London’s Gong Bar at level 52 accepts walk in guests but if you can, try to book it in advanced. You won’t regret it.

Madison Rooftop Restaurant at One New Change

Level 6 | Rooftop Terrace One, New Change | Open everyday

Located a the top of One New Change, Madison rooftop features a restaurant and cocktail bar with one of the bet views to St. Paul’s cathedral.

It’s the top pick for sundowners!

Level 9 | Tobacco Dock, Pennington St entrance | Open Thursday to Sunday

Skylight is the rooftop bar at Tobacco Dock.

It’s a colorful area with cocktails, street food stalls and oh, that view! And you can even play croquet! As you can imagine, sunsets from here are amazing.

The best about Skylight? You can also visit it during fall and winter and it turns into the only rooftop ice rink in Europe from November to January – so unique!

Sky Bar at H10 London Waterloo

Level 8 | 284-302 Waterloo Rd, South Bank | Open everyday

I had the chance to stay in a wonderful suite at H10 Waterloo and I absolutely loved the views from my bed, facing London’s skyline. The hotel features a cozy rooftop bar with wonderful views to the London Eye and The Shard.

100% would do it again! I can totally recommend either staying at H10 Waterloo or visiting its Sky Bar.

Viewing level at Tate Modern

Level 10 | Bankside | Open everyday

Tate Modern is one of the must visit (and free!) museums in London.

It features an open viewing terrace at the top floor with a gorgeous 360 degrees view to the city.

The rooftop terrace is free to visit and they accept walk-in guests: just keep in mind that last admission is 30 minutes before closing.
